We are surrounded by elements in our living environment and our daily lives. A motif is a possible representation of what we are, as individuals, and what we aspire to become.
For me, my motif is bamboo – Known as the tallest grass in the world, bamboo produces twice as much oxygen as trees. Strong and flexible, it can grow up to a metre a dy. It spreads quickly and doesn’t need replanting. While it has long and lean appearance, bamboo has multiple uses such as for cooking, construction, and storage.
Bamboo represents constant renewal and serves multiple purposes. Often, I am fascinated by bamboo because it enriches people’ lives in so many ways. The bamboo reminds me to grow further, so that I can better serve humanity.
